Our Dogs

 

Here at Wild Orchid Shih-Tzu we care from day one of conception.  All litters are carefully planned and carried out in a manner that is First and Foremost  safe for both the Sire (Father) and the Dam (Mother)

 

*We care for and closely Monitor the Dam from Day One of verifying that conception (Mating) took place. Temperature, Appetite, Activity, Everything is closely watched and monitored for immediate signs of possible distress or discomfort.

*Weight is closely monitored to ensure that the Dam is adequately gaining weight, but is not over-eating.

*At 4 Weeks (28 days) We transfer the Dam from Adult to a high calorie High quality Puppy food. (All of our "Kids" eat Wellness Core Grain Free. A 5 Star Rated Kibble) The kibble is left out for them to nibble on throughout the day, and then for dinner are fed a HGOM. (Home Cooked Organic Meal.) Please see Recipe Page If you would like to continue on with this feeding method. (Highly Recommended)

 

Our Pups

 

Once the babies are born (with the assistance of our Highly Qualified Canine Breeder/Midwife),

Every effort is made in maintaining the health and well-being of both pups and Mother.

The Puppies are monitored and weighed Daily (For the first 2 weeks) to ensure that proper growth is taking place. Then weighed weekly thereafter.

Our pups are ALL home raised. In constant site of the caregiver (Human) and The Mother (Dog)

Heat lamps are used to ensure warmth and stability during Mothers absence. (IE. Bathroom, eating, strengthening excersizes, etc.)

Our Pups are very well socialized with other humans & animals.

Our pups (nor any of our adults) are NEVER kept in cages, or kept outside. They are all completely integrate members of our family, and will ONLY go to homes that will continue to treat them the same way.
